No Japanese Required

This might be the Nintendo Japan site, but you don't need to be fluent in Japanese or even care because the pics will guide you.  There's links to GCN software, DS software and an "Outline of the Wii".  Great info and tons of pics and movies.

It's been awhile, but I still love ya!

Ah, yes. Games for the Cube. It's been awhile since I have wanted to really get anything, but this little link shows why it's not dead... in my mind at least! I loved Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door and the Doonkey Konga games, so these are obvious no brainer purchases. Now to figure out how I can get them all with my allowance!

UPDATE!:

Oh CRAP! Take a look at these pics! It's World 1-2 in SMB, big deal... except you turn it sideways in Paper Mario! Oh man, this is a must have!

You Tease You

This is apparently Nintendo's way of getting me all hot and bothered and then leaving me hangin'... for 5 months or so... GAH!

... I have to go take a cold shower...

Project H.A.M.M.E.R. is lookin' nice

Not too much info on this one but it sounds pretty sweet.  It's a Wii game published by Nintendo and it uses the Wiimote to crush robots that are destroying America.  The 2-second clip that was shown during nintendo's press conference looked cool.  It was a 3/4 view from behind the cyborg (you) and the dude was unloading on some helpless robots.  Sweeeeeet.  You use the Wiimote as a hammer and buttons to modify the attack and the Nunchuck is used to move around the world.  Straight forward but I bet it will be nice.

OPERA for the DS and Wii

Opera was already coming to the DS but apparently they are hooking up the Wii as well (man, that sounds bad).  I've used Opera before and it's pretty good, but I dig Firefox the most, baby.  Anyway, it'll be nice to have a real browser on there from a real browser "maker".  None of this Sony-like browser crap on the PSP... Great idea but it works for nothin'.  Anyway, hope this comes Stateside soon so I can surf with my portable and console.  I'll glady pay a few sheckles tomorrow for a browser today...

Wii controller

Here's a look at the official standard Wii controller that will be used for backwards compatability (GCN) and the Virtual Console (NES - N64).  Looks ok but my concern is its "flatness".  I mean, we kind of got past the SNES controller days and are going with more ergonomic controllers, aren't we?  Seems a bit old school but maybe that's what Nintendo wanted.  Who knows.  I like the dual analogue setup because I was never a fan of the C-stick on the GCN controller.  It served it's purpose but I really wanted games that work like FPS's on the Xbox and PS.  Seems like they got that right.  The nice thing is this actually looks like a normal controller... none of this wacky Kiddy-Nintendo style stuff they've had the past few generations.  Very nice.

Apparently "Next-Gen" controllers MUST have the center "Home" button!  It's unanumous!

RE Wii

This is what I like to hear!  Apparently Capcom has announced that Resident Evil will be making it on to the Wii.  RE4 was great (even though I wet myself on several occasions...) and I'm sure this one promises to be even better.  Graphically, I'm sure it will be amazing but to control the weapons that you use with the Wiimote just sounds way too cool.  I'm sure there will be other surprises in store later.

Red Steel

Here's a game that I am SUPER stoked about (surprise surprise). Ubi is a great company who has made killer games like "Beyond Good and Evil", "Splinter Cell" and "G.R.A.W.". "Red Steel" is a Wii exclusive and uses the Wiimote for aiming, the Nunchuk for movement and blocking. Check out the pics below! It looks amazing!

GIMME MY Wii! ... that so doesn't sound kosher...

NOT a rip-off of the Wiimote

This is a good read about how Sony may have "copied" the Wiimote but actually never came close to making the greatness Nintendo did.  The article points out the major differences and how Nintendo is far from counted out... which I hope we all knew already!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Oh Ken... you friggin' moron!  Mr. Kutaragi had a wonderful statement (like most of his others!) about the PS3 price tag... being TOO CHEAP!  For who, Sony Execs?!  Holy cow, man it's half my paycheck and that's without a game or anything to use on the system!!!  Are you that much of a pompous @$$?!  I think you think he might be cause I know he is!  Ugh.

Here's the link to the info... unbelievable...

Unreal...

I'm not going to give detailed info on the PS3 (my opinion instead) because, unless you've been under a rock for the past 12 hours, you know what's up. And what's up is that friggin' ridiculous price! Holy mother... $500 and $600 for a console system. I remember dropping half that for my original PS and DC and everyone thought I was a moron. Well, i must be getting smarter with age because you won't be finding me in line for one of these puppies. At $500 (the 20 Gig, low-end model) you get Blu-Ray WITHOUT HDMI out which will play a role later on as Sony and their blood brothers screw you with downgrading your image since you don't have it (check under copy-protection). That's ridiculous. How about no WiFi. Seems to be a deal nowadays with everyone having wireless in their home. BAH! How about no Memory Stick/SD/CF ports? BAH! How about ripping off every companies idea that they slam?! Microsoft's Xbox Live, Nintendo's Wii-mote, Apple's iTunes... As of midnight last night, I REALLY hate Sony! No PS3 for me, thanks!

As someone stated on a message board, you can get an Xbox 360 AND a Wii for the price of a PS3... uh... yeah... I already have the 360 and I know I'm getting the Wii soooooo.....

Here's a pic from Sony to prove my points -

TH Downhill Jam UPDATE!

Here's a few screenshots with goofball people poses to show off Downhill Jam.  Gimme!

Those sneaky SOB's!

I just read a blog entry that had this video from YouTube.  Did Nintendo know he name of the Wii last year?  Seems awfully coincidental if they didn't.  I think they're a lot smarter than they let on... but who's to say.  Still a cool video either way.

HD DVD for the 360

Sounds cool but at what price?  The article on Xbox.com, of course, SUPER hypes it up as being way better than Blu-Ray, but that's to be expected.  I would lean towards HD DVD only because of the dual discs with HD and Standard Def on either side.  But, Blu-Ray will hold more content so there's a plus for them.  I think I'll just sit back for now and watch them duke it out.  I can't even imagine how much it would cost me to place my 200+ DVDs I already own.  Ugh.  Time to get an Oppo.

Tony Hawk Downhill Jam - Wii

Tony Hawk has always been a favorite game of mine. I knew Activision was coming out with the Downhill version, but apparently now it's a Wii/DS exclusive!  WOOOOOO!!!! That rocks. It's great to hear such a major brand coming to the Wii and DS.  Also, Vicarious Visions (one of those companies I am looking to as a future employer) is making the DS version.  Everything they touch turns t gold goodness.  Can't wait!

Just watched an interview from IGN.com and the dev said that the controls are going to be pretty cool. You hold the Wii-mote sideways, having access to the D-pad and buttons to you can trick it out. The button underneath will be for grabs, which sorta makes sense. The neat part is you will use the tilt to turn and it will sense how fast you make the turn as well.

It sounds like a great game with tons of speed and neat locations. Check out the links below. Hope it's a launch title because I totally want this one!

TIME gets to touch the Wii

Here's a link to the TIME Magazine article about how they played the Wii.  It's a great read, especially when the guy describes how he needed to be pryed off of the system while playing Tennis.  Man, every word I read makes me want this system even more!

E3 time!

Ok, so it's E3 time again and I can say with a lot of confidence... I AM SUPER STOKED!  Hopefully I'll get info on the Wii, Xbox 360 stuff, DS games that will rock my socks off and even info on Playstation (not so excited about that, sorry).  I'll be checking IGN.com, Kotaku, the official sites of all the game companies, etc so check back and see what I've discovered.

Collection

Here's a breakdown of my games and I added a link on the left to a detailed list.  I haven't added my new aquisitions or some stragglers that IGN.com doesn't have (or count as games for some reason).  Basically I am getting very close to 350... and "supposedly" 12 g's of worth.  Just like my pops used to say... "It ain't worth $#!@ unless someone's willing to pay for it!"  I guess I have an office full of worthless plastic then...

The Expantion to Expand My Collection

My buddy came by this week and delivered a treasure chest full of goodness. I already have a sick amount of games, but he seems to find a way to jump the numbers up (and get an eye roll from my wife!). He delivered another SNES, some rad games for it, Colecovision games, Colecovision accessories like the Driving Controller, a pair of the Super Action Controllers, the Roller Controller (yes, real name!), and... drumroll please... The Atari Expantion module with a boat load of games. Super sweet. Check out some pics of it from Vidgame.net.

One notable game is "Mario Bros." by Nintendo for the Atari. ...whoa.

Ceck out this SWEET video too.  Oh how I miss the days...

Thanks Sug! Always a pleasure to let you mooch off me!

HAHAHAHAHA! Weeeeeeee!!!

This is hysterical! Definitely a laugh a minute. Check it out.
